Child Teacher Relationships
Mom’s Day Out Preschool has successfully guided children in social and academic skills for over 25 years. The positive feedback from both children and parents is overwhelming and rewarding. The number of families returning year after year, and child after child, makes it evident that our program prepares your child for their continuing education.
One of our strong beliefs is, it is very important to talk to children on their level. You will often find members of our staff sitting on the floor surrounded by the children, or on bended knee speaking softly one-on-one with a child, creating a caring and responsive educational environment.
At Mom’s Day Out we keep the student/teacher ratios smaller than is state regulated. This makes it possible for our teacher to give your child the individual attention they need in various stages of development.
Each member of our staff has been with Mom’s Day Out Preschool for many years. You will not find a high turnover of teachers, or under-qualified staff, working with your children. And each member of the teaching staff is very experienced and qualified in the field of education, assuring you that your child will enjoy learning and growing in a well structured surrounding, and be well prepared for kindergarten.
Our Staff
Mom’s Day Out was established in 1980 by Lil Hansche, who earned her degree in early childhood education and now has more than thirty years of teaching experience. Linda Schumacher is co-director of Mom’s Day Out, as well as a teacher and has an early childhood degree from Fox Valley Technical college in Appleton, WI. Both Lil and Linda, are active in continuing education through NAYEC Statewide Conferences, early childhood seminars and working with students in the child care development field.
School Sessions
There are two sessions for the Preschool currently running Monday - Thursday:
The first session begins each day at 9:30 a.m. and adjourns at 2:30 p.m.
The second session begins each day at 9:30 a.m. and adjourns at 12:00 p.m.
New students can enroll and begin anytime during the school year.
We accept any child between the ages of 3 and 5 years of age who is toilet trained.
We have two classrooms, a 3 – 4 year old room and a 4 – 5 year old room.
What makes our preschool program unique is that you have the option of which days of the week your child will attend. You may choose to send your child only one day, or a combination of days within a week.
A $30.00 (non-refundable) registration fee is necessary to enroll your child.
Monthly Units & Daily Activities
Mom’s Day Out Preschool prepares monthly thematic units including guidance in social and kindergarten readiness skills. The units are designed to peak the curiosity of each child.
In today’s society, as with adults, children are unique individuals and each child has a variety of interests. Children learn in many different ways; some through books and art, while others learn through music, puppets, finger plays and motor skills.
That is why each unit is designed to incorporate an array of skills.
A typical day at Mom’s Day Out Preschool includes songs, stories and art projects, hands on science, large and small motor skills, quiet and noisy time, snack time, lunch time, and small group time.
Learning is done each day through play.
