June 2008
Worship in
the Barn
Our annual Worship in the Barn service
will be held on Sunday, June 22 in Glen and Laurie Pollack’s barn at 7493 Swiss
Road. The service will begin at 10:00 a.m.
This year we will be having a fish fry. Please bring a chair to use during the
worship service. Make sure you join us for this special service and be sure to
invite friends. It will be a great morning of devotion and fun.
Directions: head south on Oregon Street until County Road Z. Turn left heading
East on Z until Swiss Road (right before the RR crossing). Turn right on Swiss
Road heading South. The house is approximately a ¼ mile down and is on the West
side of the road. Look for the John Deere street sign.
Bethany Rummage Sale
June 27 and 28 will be our church
rummage sale. You may bring in items anytime. There will be tables set up in the
adult education area. It would be appreciated if items could be separated into
clothing, household items, bedding, etc. which will make sorting and pricing
easier. The times of the sale will be announced at a later date.
If you are able to help in any way please call Mary Jo Reichenberger at 235-2284
or Sharon Thompson at 235-2087.
Bethany's Summer Worship
Bethany’s summer worship will be held
at 10:00 a.m. through the month of August.
Summer coffee hour will be the first Sunday of each month.
Bring and
Share Dinner
Carol and Don Pockat have volunteered to host a summer Bring and Share dinner
and Kevin and Carolyn Percival have volunteered to host our fall Bring and Share
dinner. More information will follow.
Board of
Administration Members
One person has volunteered to be a part of our Board of Administration. We would
like three more members to add to this board.
If you are willing or interested, please talk to Rev. Mundell or sign up on the
sheet in the foyer by the kitchen window. Terms are for two years and start in
September.
Christian
Music Videos
The world has changed in many ways due to technology. One of the more
interesting ways is that you can get access to any number of Christian music
artists' videos through the internet.
Here are some websites that you can go to if you would like to get Christian
music videos: www.musicforgod.org; wwwhigherpraise.com;
wwwchristianmusiccentral.net. You will need at least DSL for your internet
access or faster because all of these videos have been turned into flash videos
which contain a significant amount of data to down load.
Christmas
in July
We will again be participating in the Christmas in July program, which provides
supplies for the back to school fair enabling under privileged children in
Oshkosh to have a quality start to the new school year. The need is increasing
in Oshkosh as the economy slows and the fair is one of the best ways in which
Oshkosh as a city helps out those in need.
If you are interested in what the need in Oshkosh is like, give Captain Johnny a
call at the Salvation Army.
